In the three weeks that I have back at my parents' house before embarking on the Big Move I've actually managed to spend a lot of time back in Oberlin. There are still a lot of people I love here and it's either that or sitting at home watching The West Wing reruns with my dog. So I'm here now and while it's certainly odd to be back, it's not nearly as strange as I was afraid it would be.
Most of all being back has convinced me that going away was a good thing. I wasn't too sure at commencement that commencing was really for me, but now I know I'm ready to get out there in the world. That doesn't mean I wouldn't love to be finishing up my Art History major or taking Stage Combat, but I'm ready to stretch my wings.
I think what I keep forgetting is that you don't have to stop learning when you leave college. In fact, I have a sneaking suspicion that you actually get to learn more out of college, just in a different format. You just have to be more motivated about going after it.
